Wrong and Right
SCRIPTURE on the theme of Righteousness/Works
These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with Elohim.
Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
You shall therefore obey the voice of YHWH your Elohim, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you this day.
And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other elohim to serve them.
Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.
If you shall hearken to the voice of YHWH your Elohim, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if you turn to YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul.
In that I command you this day to love YHWH your Elohim, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply: and YHWH your Elohim shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it.
And YHWH said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one who fears Elohim, and eschews evil?"
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in YHWH.
YHWH, who shall abide in your tabernacle? who shall dwell in your holy hill?
He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.
For the perverse is abomination to YHWH: but YAH's secret is with the righteous.
The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
Righteousness [is] life: he who pursues evil [pursues] death.
The light of the righteous rejoices: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
The evil bow before the good; the wicked bow the gates of the righteous.
They who forsake the law praise the wicked: but keepers the law struggle [for right.]
He who causes the righteous to stray in an evil way, shall fall into his own trap: but the upright shall possess good things.
When righteous men triumph, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, men hide.
Then shall you call, and YHWH shall answer; you shall cry, and YAH shall say, "Here I am." If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
For I say to you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.
[The man who wanted to live forever] said to Yahshua, "Which Commandments?" Yahshua said, "You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,
Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
For Herod feared John, knowing that John was a just man and holy, and Herod observed John; and when Herod heard John, Herod did many things [John said], and heard John gladly.
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named ZachariYah, of the course of AbiYah: and ZachariYah's wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
And ZachariYah and Elisabeth were righteous before Elohim, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Adonai blameless.
You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother.
And, behold, a man named Joseph, a councilman; a good man, and just:
Joseph had not consented to the counsel and deed of the Sanhedrin; he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: Joseph also himself waited for the kingdom of Elohim.
Joseph went to Pilate, and requested the body of Yahshua.
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.
He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
And as Paul reasoned regarding righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, "That's enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you."
But if our unrighteousness brings out Elohim's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That Elohim is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)
But now the news is spreading of the righteousness from Elohim which comes separately from the Sinai Code. The Law and the Prophets talked about this righteousness.
note: A heart-righteousness that is not based on legalistic rule-following.
This righteousness from Elohim comes through faith in Yahshua (the Messiah) to all who believe. There is no difference,
note: Believing means walking out your faith in action. Crossing the Grand Canyon walking on thin air.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
note: Cast off the lower powers, with their deceptive armor of debt-funded military power, and put on the true protective shield of faith. Cast off also the darkness of residential and commercial lives which have no eternal use. Cast off also the darkness of anarchy and disrespect of brave soldiers, police, and leaders.
I therefore, the prisoner of the Adonai, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation with which you are called,
This I say therefore, and testify in Adonai, that you henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
But you have not so learned MessiYah;
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Proving what is acceptable to Adonai.
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Yahshua MessiYah, to the glory and praise of Elohim.
1st Timothy 5:10
[A Widow on the church welfare role must also be] well reported of for good works; if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.
note: Women entering into an official status should have already shown their selfless, serving nature.
1st Timothy 5:25
Likewise there are good works which are obvious; and bad works cannot remain hidden.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they who have believed in Elohim exercise thought to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
And let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works:
Pure religion and undefiled before Elohim and Father is this: To visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
note: The classic timeless BS-razor that cuts through all of the religious
hypocrisy. Church people who don't help orphans and widows, and are much like the people around them, are embroiled in impure religion. Help the troubled widows and orphans. Separate from the worldly nations. That's pure spirituality. That empty boring church scene is for losers.
What does it profit, my brothers, though a man say he has faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, "You have faith, and I have works:" show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
See you how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
note: Eat that, Martin Luther! That's why Martin Luther wanted the book of James taken out of the bible. Your works actually do matter to your salvation.
Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Therefore to him who knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.
1st Peter 1:14
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
2nd Peter 1:3
According as his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and holiness, through the knowledge of him who has called us to glory and virtue:
note: The word rendered here as: "holiness" can mean piety, reverence, devoutness.
1st John 2:29
If you know that he is righteous, you know that every one that does righteousness is born of him.
3rd John 1:11
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is of Elohim: but he who does evil has not seen Elohim.
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 2:19
I know your works, and charity, and service, and faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first.
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 19:8
And to the Lamb's wife was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Wisdom of Solomon 1:1
Love righteousness, you who be judges of the earth: think of the Adonai with a good (heart,) and in simplicity of heart seek him.
