SCRIPTURE on the theme of Work

1 Genesis 2:15 YHWH Elohim took Adam (man), and put him into the garden of Pleasure (Eden) to dress it and to keep it.
2 Genesis 3:23 Therefore YHWH Elohim sent Adam out of the garden of Eden, to work the ground from where Adam had been taken.
3 Genesis 4:2 Eve then bore Cain's brother Abel. Abel was a sheep-herder; Cain worked the soil.

13 NehemiYAH 3:6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
14 NehemiYAH 3:7 And next to them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, to the throne of the governor on this side the river.
15 NehemiYAH 3:8 Next to him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next to him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem to the broad wall.
16 NehemiYAH 3:9 And next to them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
17 NehemiYAH 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together to the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
18 NehemiYAH 4:21 So we labored in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.

note: Young Amish people live in their workshops until they can build living quarters. Build the barn first, then the house.

35 Proverbs 27:18 Whoso keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he who waits on his master shall be honored.
36 Proverbs 27:26 Lambs are for your clothing; the goats are the price of the field.
note: One interpretation: animals are good to have for an independent source of clothing; and the value of a farm is not in the land itself (real estate) but in the value of the harvest (in animals) which you can reap from the land.

37 Proverbs 28:19 He who works his land shall have plenty of bread: but he who follows after vain persons shall have abundant poverty.
38 Proverbs 30:25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
39 Proverbs 30:28 The spider (or lizard)'s hands seize hold in kings' palaces.
40 Proverbs 31:13 The virtuous wife seeks wool and flax, and works willingly with her hands.
41 Proverbs 31:14 The virtuous wife is like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from afar.
42 Proverbs 31:18 The virtuous wife perceives that her profit is good: her candle doesn't go out at night.
note: Double meanings: She counts/tastes her profit / and or tends to her products, even late at night. AND/OR the more fun, and in context with the previous verse: She knows her body rocks; she keeps her husband on fire in the night.

43 Proverbs 31:19 The virtuous wife lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
note: Sewing.

44 Proverbs 31:22 The virtuous wife makes coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
45 Proverbs 31:24 The virtuous wife makes fine linen, and sells it; and delivers sashes to the merchant.
46 Ecclesiastes 2:24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of Elohim.

note: Paul did not spend that much time making tents. He was too busy evangelizing. People use this tent-making verse to justify their lives of worldly employment to fund their residential fruitless consumerism. A believer is to give his life fully to the work of the Gospel.

61 Acts 20:34 You know how my own hands have supplied what I and my companions needed.
62 Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Adonai Yahshua himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
