SCRIPTURE on the theme of Unity/Brotherhood/Ecclesia/The Body
Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,
Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin,
Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
And the [Reubenites, Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh] answered JAHshua, "All you command us we will do; wherever you send us, we will go."
And Micah said to the traveler, "Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and your food." So the Levite went in.
And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to Micah like one of his sons.
Ezra the scribe stood upon a wooden stage, built for this purpose. On Ezra's right hand stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Urijah, Hilkiah, Maaseiah. On Ezra's his left hand: Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchiah, Hashum, Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
The locusts have no king, yet they all go forth by bands;
Again I say to you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
And John answered Yahshua, saying, "Master, we saw one casting out devils in your name, and he doesn't follow not us: and we forbade him, because he doesn't follow us."
But Yahshua said, "Do not Forbid him: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
For he who is not against us is on our side.
(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed Yahshua, and ministered to him;) and many other women who came up with Yahshua to Jerusalem.
And the disciples of Yohannon (John) showed John of all these things.
And John answered and said, "Master, we saw one casting out devils in your name; and we forbade him, because he follows not with us."
note: He wasn't with OUR denomination...
And Yahshua said to him, "Forbid him not: for he who is not against us is for us."
And when the hour was come, Yahshua sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
And Yahshua said to the apostles, "Longingly I set my heart upon eating this passover with you before I suffer:
And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with the eleven,
At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
These things I command you, that you love one another.
I pray for the [believers]: I don't pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me; for they are yours.
That they all may be one; as you, Father, art in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me.
note: A troublesome verse for Trinitarians, and helpful to Monotheists.
And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
note: The type of the one-ness that the Son has with the Father is the same Oneness that perfected believers will also have with the Son and the Father. Not merged together into "ONE MULTI_PERSON GOD." But unified.
I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.
When the disciples got to Jerusalem, they went up into an upper room, where they all were staying: Peter, and James, and Yohannon (John), Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, MattithYahu (Matthew), James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the brother of James.
These disciples all joined together in prayer and petition, with the women, Mary the mother of Yahshua, and with Yahshua's brothers.
In those days Peter stood up among the roughly 120 disciples, and said,
When the day of Pentecost arrived, the [disciples] were all in harmony in one place.
And all who believed were together, and had all things common;
note: The command of Yahshuah was to sell their possessions and give to the poor, not to keep their possessions in common. Big mistake! Communism crept in here, and great persecution was the result.
And the [believers], continuing daily as one in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, ate their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
The multitude who believed were of one heart and of one soul: none of them said that the things he possessed were his own; but they had all things common.
note: This sounds good, but keeping things in common becomes a way to hold on to wealth without truly giving it away, which is what Yahshua actually commanded.
A Levite from Cyprus, Joseph, whom the apostles called Barnabas (Son of Encouragement)
No outsiders dared join the Ekklesia, even though the people admired them.
note: Something's wrong when the people magnify you. It's a setup.
This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen (a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit) and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas (a convert to Judaism from Antioch.)
The group set these 7 men before the apostles. The apostles prayed, then laid their hands on the 7.
After taking some food, Saul regained his strength. Saul spent a number of days with the disciples in Damascus.
note: Paul was in Damascus an unknown number of days.
When Saul's friends learned of the murder plot, they got Saul out of Jerusalem, took him to Caesarea, and then shipped him off to Tarsus.
Then the ekklesiae throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. They were multiplied and edified, walking in the fear of Adonai, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
As Peter traveled the country, he went to visit the saints in Lydda.
Barnabas found Saul and brought Saul to Antioch. For a whole year Barnabas and Saul assembled themselves with the ekklesia, and taught many people. There in Antioch the disciples were first called "Christians."
note: People first called the Disciples "Christians" at Antioch, years after Yahshua died. Yahshua did not refer to his disciples with the pagan term, "Christian."
Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer the door.
In the ekklesia at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: [for instance], Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.
When Barnabas and Paul had ordained elders in every Ekklesia, and had prayed with fasting, they commended the disciples to Adonai, on whom they believed.
Barnabas and Paul stayed long time with the disciples in Antioch.
So Paul and Barnabas had sharp dispute and debate with the [circumcising] men from Judea. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other [believers], should go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question.
The ekklesia sent Barnabas and Paul and the others. As the group passed through Phenice and Samaria, they declared how the Gentiles had been converted [to belief in the Hebrew Messiah]. This news made all the brothers very glad.
When Barnabas and Paul and the others arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the ekklesia, and the apostles and elders, to whom the travelers reported everything Elohim had done through them.
When Paul and Barnabas finished, James spoke up: 'Brothers, listen to me.
Then the apostles and elders, with the whole ekklesia, decided to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, the following chosen chief men among the brothers: Judas (called Barsabas), and Silas:
The apostles and elders wrote letters to send with the messengers like this: "The apostles, elders and brothers send greetings to the Gentile brothers in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
It seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
Paul and Barnabas and company stayed a while in Antioch, then the Antioch brothers sent the group back to the Ekklesia who had sent the group from Jerusalem.
Some days later, Paul said to Barnabas, "Let's go again and visit our brothers in every city where we have heralded the Word of Adonai, and see how the brothers are doing."
Paul traveled through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the ekklesiae.
Paul and Timothy traveled from town to town, delivering the guidelines given by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to live by.
So the ekklesiae were established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
When Lydia and the members of her household were baptized, Lydia begged us, saying, "If you consider me a believer in Adonai, come into my house, and stay there." Lydia persuaded us.
After Paul and Silas left prison, they entered Lydia's house. Paul and Silas saw and comforted the brothers, and departed.
The men escorted Paul to Athens and brought back Paul's instructions for Silas and Timothy to come to Paul as fast as possible. So Silas and Timotheus left [Berea for Athens.]
Paul spent some time in Antioch, then left and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia [retracing his old tracks, one town after another], strengthening all the disciples.
note: Disciples need to be planted and watered and weeded.
When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote the talmidim there to welcome him. In Achaia Apollos was a great help to those who by grace had believed.
On the first day of the week we disciples came together to break bread, and Paul dialoged with us. Paul was ready to leave the next morning, so Paul continued the discussion through midnight.
note: Paul was not delivering a sermon. Paul was having a discussion with loving friends.
There were many lamps in the upper room where the disciples were gathered together.
Paul went upstairs again, broke bread, ate, talked until daylight, then departed.
note: This verse is ambiguous; may be talking about Paul, or Eutychus.
From Miletus Paul sent to Ephesus, calling the elders of the Ekklesia.
All the disciples wept bitterly, and clung to Paul's neck, and kissed him,
Then they (the believers from Tyre) all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we knelt down on the shore, and prayed.
We said goodbye, boarded the ship; and they (the believers from Tyre) returned home again.
We continued our voyage from Tyre and landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for a day.
The next day we (Paul's company) departed for and reached Caesarea: and we stayed with Philip the evangelist (who was one of the "Seven") in his house.
Some of the disciples from Caesarea went with us and brought to the house of Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we would stay.
When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers received us warmly.
The next day Paul and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present.
Paul greeted (James and the elders) reported in detail what Elohim had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
The brothers in Rome had heard we were coming, and they traveled as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns to meet us. At the sight of these believers Paul thanked Elohim and took courage.
To all in Rome who are loved by Elohim and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from Elohim our Father and from the Adonai Yahshua Messiah.
So we, being many, are one body in MessiYah, and every one members one of another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
1st Corinthians 1:2
To the ekklesia of Elohim at Corinth, to them who are sanctified in MessiYah Yahshua, called to be saints, with all who in every place call upon the name of Yahshua MessiYah, our Adonai and theirs:
1st Corinthians 12:4
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1st Corinthians 12:5
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Adonai.
1st Corinthians 12:6
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same Elohim which works all in all.
1st Corinthians 12:7
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit all together.
1st Corinthians 12:8
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
1st Corinthians 12:9
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
1st Corinthians 12:10
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1st Corinthians 12:11
But all these works that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1st Corinthians 12:12
For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is MessiYah.
1st Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1st Corinthians 12:14
For the body is not one member, but many.
1st Corinthians 12:15
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is the foot therefore not of the body?
1st Corinthians 12:16
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is the ear therefore not of the body?
1st Corinthians 12:17
If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the sense of smelling?
1st Corinthians 12:18
But now has Elohim set the members every one of them in the body, as it has pleased him.
1st Corinthians 12:19
And if the body parts were all one member, where would be the body?
1st Corinthians 12:20
But now are the body parts are many members, yet but one body.
1st Corinthians 12:21
And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
1st Corinthians 12:22
Nay, those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are much more necessary:
1st Corinthians 12:23
And those members of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our unbecoming parts have more abundant comeliness.
1st Corinthians 12:24
For our comely parts have no need: but Elohim has tempered the body together, having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked:
1st Corinthians 12:25
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
1st Corinthians 12:26
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.
1st Corinthians 12:27
Now you are the body of MessiYah, and members in particular.
1st Corinthians 12:28
And Elohim has set some in the Ekklesia, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1st Corinthians 12:29
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
1st Corinthians 12:30
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
1st Corinthians 14:26
How is it then, brothers? when you come together, everyone of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edifying.
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in Adonai Yahshua, and love to all the saints,
Which is Yahshua's body, the fullness of Yahshua that fills all in all.
And [you] are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yahshua MessiYah himself being the chief corner stone;
In whom all the building fitly framed together grows to a holy temple in Adonai:
In whom you also are built together for a habitation of Elohim through the Spirit.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;
One Adonai, one faith, one baptism,
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body to the edifying of itself in love.
That MessiYah might present the Ekklesia to himself a glorious ekklesia, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as Adonai nourishes and cherishes the Ekklesia:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning MessiYah and the ekklesia.
Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.
Only politically associate as it becomes the gospel of MessiYah: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
If there be therefore any consolation in MessiYah, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Fulfil you my joy, that you be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
Salute every saint in MessiYah Yahshua. The brothers which are with me greet you.
To the saints and faithful brothers in MessiYah who are at Colosse: Grace be to you, and peace, from Elohim our Father and the Adonai Yahshua MessiYah.
As you also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of MessiYah;
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with the increase of Elohim.
All about me will be declared to you by Tychicus, beloved brother, and faithful minister and fellowservant in Adonai:
note: <3588>(T-NSM)<3588>(T-APN)All<3956>(A-APN) my<1691>(P-1AS) state<2596>(PREP) shall<1107>(V-FAI-3S) Tychicus<5190>(N-NSM) declare<1107>(V-FAI-3S) unto you<5213>(P-2DP), who is a beloved<27>(A-NSM) brother<80>(N-NSM), and<2532>(CONJ) a faithful<4103>(A-NSM) minister<1249>(N-NSM) and<2532>(CONJ) fellowservant<4889>(N-NSM) in<1722>(PREP) the Lord<2962>(N-DSM):
Whom I have sent to you for the same purpose, that he might know your situation, and comfort your hearts;
Aristarchus my fellowprisoner salutes you, and Marcus, Barnabas' nephew, (about whom you received commandments: if he comes to you, receive him;)
And Jahshua, called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers to the kingdom of Elohim, who have been a comfort to me.
Epaphras, who is of you, servant of MessiYah, salutes you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of Elohim.
For I bear him record, that he has great zeal for you, and they in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
Luke, beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.
Salute the brothers in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the Ekklesia in his house.
The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my shackles. Grace be with you. Amén.
1st Timothy 5:17
Let the older men who preside well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.
1st Timothy 5:19
Do not accept an accusation against an elder, unless it is supported by two or three witnesses.
2nd Timothy 1:2
To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from YAH the Father and MessiYah Yahshua our Adonai.
2nd Timothy 4:11
Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you: for Mark is useful to me for ministry.
2nd Timothy 4:12
And I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
2nd Timothy 4:19
Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
2nd Timothy 4:20
Erastus stayed at Corinth: but I left Trophimus at Miletum sick.
2nd Timothy 4:21
Do your diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brothers.
All that are with me salute you. Greet them who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the Ekklesia in your house:
That the fellowship of your faith may become effective by the knowledge of every good thing which is in you in MessiYah Yahshua.
For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints are refreshed by you, brother.
I beg you for my son Onesimus, whom I have become the father of in my bondage,
I am sending him back. Therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,
Yea, brother, let me have joy from you in Adonai: refresh my heart in Adonai.
Having confidence in your obedience I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlaborers.
Greetings from James, a servant of YHVH and of the Adonai Yahshua MessiYah, to the twelve tribes whom are scattered abroad.
1st Peter 1:1
Peter, an apostle of Yahshua MessiYah, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
note: We are foreigners scattered throughout the earth, never at home no matter where we are.
1st Peter 2:5
You also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to Elohim by Yahshua MessiYah.
1st Peter 3:8
Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous:
1st Peter 5:13
The ekklesia that is at Babylon, elected together with you, salutes you; and so does Marcus my son.
1st Peter 5:14
Greet you one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in MessiYah Yahshua. Amen.
1st John 1:3
That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Yahshua MessiYah.
2nd John 1:1
The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they who have known the truth;
2nd John 1:13
The children of your elect sister greet you. Amane.
note: The Hebrew word prounounced 'Aw-Mein' is used here, which sounds like but is a world away from the name of the Egyptian false god, 'Amen.'
3rd John 1:1
[A letter from me,] the elder to the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
(From) Jude, the servant of Yahshua MessiYah, and brother of James, to them who are sanctified by Elohim the Father, and preserved in Yahshua MessiYah, and called:
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 1:20
The mystery of the 7 stars which you saw in my right hand, and the 7 golden candlesticks: The 7 stars are the angels of the 7 Ekklesiae: and the 7 candlesticks which you saw are the 7 Ekklesiae.
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 12:1
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
note: This woman is the true remnant Israel, the true Hebrew Ekklesia (those called out away from the wordly nations, away from apostate "Israel" and away from the apostate 'Church') The 12 stars represent the faithful remnant from the 12 tribes of Israel, who (though few in number relative to the total number of their rebellious genetic brothers) will be numerous as the 'stars.'
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 12:2
And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
note: She (the ancient faithful people of YHWH) gave birth to Yahshuah, the Messiah, (and by extension, his disciples) She is in great pain inflicted by the persecutors, the nations and the religious hypocritical authorities who killed the prophets.
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready.
Apocalypsis (Revelation) 21:9
And there came to me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, "Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife."
1 Maccabees 2:43
Also all they who fled for persecution joined themselves to them, and were a stay to them.
1 Maccabees 3:2
And all Hammer's brothers helped him, and so did all they who held with Hammer's father, and they fought with cheerfulness the battle of Israel.
1 Maccabees 4:37
Upon this all the host assembled themselves together, and went up into mount Zion.
1 Maccabees 5:16
Now when Judah the Hammer and the people heard these words, there assembled a great congregation together, to consult what they should do for their brothers, that were in trouble, and assaulted by the heathen.
